Studio M: St. Mary's Restoration Photography by Joe Albert

The Studio M exhibition, St. Mary’s Church Restoration: Photography by Joe Albert, will open Saturday, January 14, from 3:00-5:00 pm, in the Fred F. Silk Community Room of the Massillon Museum. Albert’s digital photography documents, with strong color and stunning angles, the 2015–16 restoration process from workers in the scaffold-filled sanctuary to the finished shining floors, sparkling windows, and fresh paint that bring new life to the 1876 National Register structure.

The public is invited to attend the artist’s reception, which will be free and open to everyone; no reservations will be required. The exhibition will continue through Sunday, February 19, 2017.

Canton-based photographer Joe Albert, who never leaves home without his camera, photographs individuals throughout the most memorable milestones in their lives—senior portraits, engagement photos, weddings, and children. He is also known for his architectural images and cityscapes.

“To truly see the world through the photographer’s eye is to look for the beauty in everything,” Albert says. “Whether capturing the people that are important to us or the places that move us, my goal is to convey the essence of what makes life beautiful.”

The Massillon Museum’s Studio M exhibition may be seen during regular Museum hours, Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.  For more information, call the Massillon Museum at 330-833-4061, or visit massillonmuseum.org.

Studio M enhances the collaboration between the Museum and the community by showcasing the artistic talents of local, regional, and national artists.
