Studio M: Caught Off Guard: A Candid View by Canton Artist League

Canton Artists League to Exhibit Caught Off Guard: A Candid View in Studio M

The Canton Artist League has created the exhibition, Caught Off Guard: A Candid View, for the Massillon Museum’s Studio M from August 11 through September 17, 2017. Canton Artists League members were invited to create work that captures an unexpected moment, suggests a narrative with an unknown beginning or end, or includes an unlikely pairing of elements.

The public is invited to meet the artists, view their work, and enjoy refreshments at the exhibition opening on Friday, August 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Fred F. Silk Community Room of the Massillon Museum.  The party is free and open to all.

The artists whose work will be included are:  Cynthia Capastrain, Ann Cranor, Frank Dale, Megan Farrabee, Sharon Frank Mazgaj, Deborah French, Jane Heater, Judith Girscht Huber, Carolyn Jacob, Pam LaRocco, Natividad (Suni) Lopez Ortiz, David Martin ll, Claudia Mullane, Anna Rather, Irene Tobias Rodriguez, Judith Salamon, Michele Tokos, Donna Volpe, Kevin Walton, Lynn Weinstein, Gail Wetherell-Sack, Joan Willms, Yih Yee Wong, Isabel Zaldivar

Visitors to the Canton Artists League Studio M opening will also be able to view Stark County in the Great War, Wild (Mid)West, and the Immel Circus.

The Studio M exhibition may be seen through September 27 during regular Museum hours, Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Anderson’s in the City and the Museum shop, OHregionalities, are located in the lobby of the Massillon Museum.

Studio M enhances the collaboration between the Museum and the community by showcasing the artistic talents of local, regional, and national artists.  The series of five-week shows will continue throughout the year, selected by jurors from proposals submitted by artists.  Guidelines and an application are available by contacting the Massillon Museum at 330-833-4061 or
