Internships

How to Apply

Internships are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Applications for college-credit internships must be submitted at least 30 days before the semester starts, and supervisor approval may be required. Submitting an application does not necessarily guarantee that an internship will be granted. Staff will do their best to work with you and determine if the schedule and space will allow for a specified number of internships each semester. We look forward to working with you!

Send your resume and cover letter by email or mail to:

Volunteer Amanda Sisler helped to rehouse our collection of guns and swords, summer 2018.
Interns Nick Samples and Kyle Saylor assist doctoral student Gerry Prout with his research on "General" Jacob Coxey, 2011.
Interns Rebecca Finley and Sarah Dickes assisted staff member Emily Vigil in photographing, inventorying, and rehousing hundreds of hats in 2018.

There are several types of internships at the Massillon Museum which are appropriate for careers in museums and galleries, and also for those with an interest in the arts, history, business, education, public history, and non-profits.

Internships can qualify for college credit if this type of experience is required by your degree. They can provide meaningful hands on experience, and unique networking opportunities with professionals. The museum operates with a very small staff, so you can be sure that your work will be important and valued.

Which internship is right for you? Review the following departments to see what areas are available.
