Studio M Student Exhibitions

Massillon Museum invites students or recent graduates pursuing a BA/BFA or MFA in studio art at a Northeastern Ohio university to apply for two Studio M show slots for the following year. Student shows are installed for three weeks each. Click on the application link below for complete eligibility requirements. The initiative connects Museum visitors to artwork by emerging artists in the region.

Studio M

Massillon Museum members have the opportunity to apply to exhibit their artwork in the Studio M Gallery on the second floor of the Museum.  Shows are celebrated by an artist’s reception, and artists are also featured guests for Massillon Museum's podcast, MassMusings.

Show proposal applications will be reviewed and scheduled two years prior to exhibition.

Annual Stark County Artists' Exhibition

The Massillon Museum has held this annual juried show for more than 30 years. In order to apply, you must be a present or former Stark County, Ohio resident, or currently work in Stark County, Ohio.

Fred F. Silk Community Room Gallery

The Massillon Museum invites students in kindergarten through twelfth grade in Northeast Ohio to submit their artwork to the new Family Means to Me exhibition in the Fred F. Silk Community Room Gallery! This exhibition will be on display from April 6 through June 9, 2024, and will be held in conjunction with the seventeenth annual NEA Big Read in Massillon. This year’s book selection is Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, a historical fiction novel that traces eight generations of a family descended from two half sisters born in Ghana. Current public, private, parochial, and homeschool students are invited to submit their original artwork inspired by what family means to them!

Please note that submissions will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis and vetted by staff for appropriate content. Submissions will end when fifty (50) artworks have been received.

Paul Brown Museum's "Brown's Town: Art Inspired by Ohio's Football Heritage"

The Paul Brown Museum at the Massillon Museum invites emerging and established artists 18 and older who are current or former residents of Ohio, to submit their artwork for the new exhibition Brown’s Town: Art Inspired by Ohio’s Football Heritage. This exhibition will be on display from August 21, 2024 through January 12, 2025 in the Paul Brown Museum gallery. Artists are invited to submit their original artwork completed within the past five years inspired by themes relating to the father of modern football, Paul Brown. These themes include Paul Brown, the Massillon Tigers, Ohio State Buckeye football, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami University-Oxford/Cradle of Coaches, the Massillon Tiger Football Booster Club/commitment to community, early professional football in northeast Ohio, Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, the Massillon Tiger Swing Band, the Massillon/Canton McKinley Rivalry, and Paul Brown’s coaching tree. This exhibit will offer a contemporary look at the legendary coach’s inspiration throughout Ohio.
