The Massillon Museum is an art and history museum in Massillon, Ohio. It has over 100,000 items in its collection. It changes exhibitions several times a year, and boasts 3 floors of art and history exhibitions, along with classroom and meeting space.
Admission to the Museum is FREE and tours with museum staff or volunteers are also FREE. Group visits and guided tours must be booked in advance. Donations are always appreciated and will support the Museum’s Education Department.
The Museum is a “one stop shop” for completing badge and advancement programs for all ages of girls and boys. Our programs provide you with the resources and experiences to meet many of your requirements. Programs last from 1-3 hours, depending on the size of the group and activities, and may include guided museum tours, lectures, multi-media presentations, object handling, arts and crafts. Troop leaders will be provided with a detailed curriculum for the advancement program based on the official Scout requirements. We may ask your group to do a little homework beforehand or to bring in items (favorite toy, photographs, news articles, etc.) depending on the requirements of the program. Costs are per Scout and include museum staff time, printed materials, and supplies. A minimum of 7 Scouts is required to hold a Program, maximum 20 (unless otherwise noted). Special arrangements may be made for larger groups.
