Stark County Artists Exhibition Call for Entries 2011

CALL FOR ENTRIES: Deadline July 24, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.

ENTRY FORMS
Entry forms may be picked up at the Museum during regular hours or may be downloaded as a PDF Entry Form by clicking here.

Each artist must complete one ENTRY FORM and present it when submitting support materials. Labels and entry forms may be photocopied. Artists may submit, on a separate sheet, a one-paragraph explanation of their work, if necessary, to ensure the jurors’ understanding of the media or process. Written material not related to artwork will not be used. RETAIN LABELS TO ATTACH TO WORK.

Entry Deadline: July 24, 2011 at 4:00 p.m..

ELIGIBILITY
Open to present and former Stark County residents and to those currently working in Stark County. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age. All media will be considered. A panel of three independent jurors will select work to be included and prizes to be awarded.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Each artist may submit up to three DIGITAL images of work which has been completed in the past two years. Each digital file must be 300-dpi in jpeg format. Digital files must be labeled with artist’s last name and the title of the piece, corresponding with the name and title on the entry form. Entries must be delivered or mailed to the Museum. No email entries will be accepted. A 6x9-inch self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage must be included if a disk is to be returned. No changes can be made after submission. Deadline: July 24, 2011, 4:00 p.m.

ACCEPTED WORK
Work must be completely ready to hang or display. Works on paper must be framed under glass or plexiglass, ready to hang with wire secured to the back of the frame (no sawteeth). Frames must be sturdy and in good condition. The Museum is not responsible for work damaged by improperly prepared work. Clip and plastic box frames are not acceptable. The Museum reserves the right to reject work that is not ready for hanging. Each entry must be identified with a label from this brochure completely filled out and securely attached to the back.

STARK COUNTY ARTISTS SCHEDULE
Submission deadline: July 24, 2011
Notification to artists (mailing date): August 31, 2011
Delivery of accepted work: October 8–13, 2011
Exhibition: October 22–December 31, 2011
Pick-Up of Exhibited Work: January 6–13, 2012

FEES
Each artist may submit up to three works. A non-refundable $10 fee per piece of artwork or $20 for three pieces of artwork must accompany entries. Work may be for sale; the Museum will retain a 30% commission.

DELIVERY
Artists are responsible for delivery of accepted work by 4:00 p.m. on days when the Museum is regularly open between October 8 and October 13, 2011. Work must be picked up following the show between January 6 and January 13, 2012. CDs may be picked up during that time; they will be discarded after January 13.

The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday: 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

EXHIBITION OPENING
Saturday, October 22, 2011: 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Awards announced: 8:00 p.m.
Free and open to the public. No reservations required.
