Friends of Relay for Life of Massillon and Western Stark County
*Exhibit opening Friday, October 23 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Amateurs and professionals of all ages may submit matted 8 by 10-inch images, black and white or color, to the Massillon Museum between September 30 and October 16. Entries should include, on the back, the photographer’s name, age (if under 18), and phone number. The images must be for sale. They may be purchased throughout the exhibition with a suggested minimum donation of $25. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Call 330-454-4773 for further contest information.
“We are especially interested in pictures taken during the 2009 Relay at Perry High School stadium,” said exhibit organizer Jan Jordan, “but we’ll welcome any images that friends of Relay for Life wish to donate for this fundraising effort.”
The exhibition will open on Friday, October 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Massillon Museum’s Fred F. Silk Community Room. Participants and the public are invited to meet the photographers, see their work, and enjoy refreshments. The event is free and open to everyone.
The Relay for Life photo exhibition may be seen during regular Museum hours Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., except when the Silk Room has been reserved for private functions. A call to the Museum office can confirm that the exhibit is available for viewing: 330-833-4061. (The Museum will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 26.) The Massillon Museum is located at 121 Lincoln Way East (Ohio Route 172) in downtown Massillon.
