Judi Krew: Fascinating Faces from Interesting Places
On display January 14 – February 20, 2011
FREE Exhibit opening on Friday, January 14 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Judi Krew of Canton will exhibit soft pastel portraits in the Massillon Museum’s Studio M exhibition, Fascinating Faces from Interesting Places, from January 14 through February 20.

The public is invited to meet the artist, view her artwork, and enjoy refreshments at the exhibition opening on Friday, January 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Fred F. Silk Community Room of the Massillon Museum. The party is free and open to all.

Krew’s signature work is aflame with color and energy, displaying unexpected color juxtapositions and combinations of markings and shapes. Some represent recognizable local people; others are intriguing visages from the artist’s travels.

Krew holds a bachelor of Fine arts in drawing and painting from the University of Akron and a Master of Arts in art education from Case Western ReserveUniversity. She has frequently exhibited her pastels and presented demonstrations and workshops in Canton. Her paintings have garnered 30 awards in 118 regional and national juried exhibitions in 27 states. She has been included in a dozen invitational exhibitions in 8 states and has been the focus of 13 solo exhibitions in 5 states. Nineteen works of art by Krew grace public collections of universities and corporations.

The Studio M exhibition may be seen through February 20 during regular Museum hours, Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Chit Chat Coffee Shoppe; the Museum shop, OhRegionalities; and the newly acquired operable vintage photobooth are located in the lobby of the Massillon Museum. Visitors may also view the Between Two Worlds: The Photography of Nell Dorr exhibition and The Immel Circus.
