Massillon Museum volunteers, John and Bobbie Muhlbach, chair the Museum’s 2014 membership campaign. They encourage fellow Massillonians as well as regional residents to be part of the Museum’s momentum.
The campaign kickoff will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, at the Museum. The public is encouraged to take a last look at the Fragile Waters exhibition of photographs by Ansel Adams, Dorothy Kerper Monnelly, and Ernest H. Brooks II. Docents will be stationed throughout the exhibits to enrich the visitor experience.
“Membership support is essential to the Massillon Museum,” said Executive Director Alexandra Nicholis Coon. “It augments the income we receive from property taxes, which cover only about 70% of our total operating budget. And it provides unrestricted funding for some of the special projects that we lead.”
Operations Officer Scot Phillips, who coordinates the membership campaign, says the goal is to increase the Museum’s roster to 700 members. “Membership has been growing exponentially during the past few years,” he said. “We’re looking forward to keeping the trend moving.” He cites communications from the Museum as one of the most important benefits to members, who receive the newsletter and other advance notifications of upcoming events.
Whether you wish to join the MassMu story as an individual, family, or business, there are various levels at which you can sign up to show your support. A link to MassMu’s Corporate Membership Brochure can be found below.
