Blind Spot: A Matter of Perception
February 18 – May 23, 2017

This exhibit will feature ten abstract paintings from the Massillon Museum collection, each translated–by co-curators Barry Stirbens and Jan Stirbens, community members who are blind–into sonic iPad touch-screen apps, designed by Classic Interactions.  Tactile models created by David McDowell along with typewritten and Braille labels will explain the art.  Sighted visitors can borrow macular degeneration simulation goggles to gain a sense of the exhibition experience for patrons with low vision.

Westward, Ho! True Grit Themes in Costumes and Artifacts
Opens March 5, 2017

In celebration of this year's The Big Read book selection, True Grit, this exhibit will display costumes from the 2010 True Grit film, on loan from Paramount Pictures, complemented by Native American artifacts from the Massillon Museum Collection.
